why
Thank Goodness for Portable Car
Air Conditioner
About six months
ago, my husband bought a used van. It was during the wintertime, so we had no clue the air conditioning did not
work properly. Low and behold, summertime arrives with a vengeance. I am now stuck in mid-summer
driving a minivan that only possesses two windows that roll down, during a ninety-
degree heat wave, and we all know that in a vehicle heat is magnified by ten
times. After almost experiencing a heat stroke from just a three
mile drive to the local grocery store, I decided to find out what it would
cost to fix the air conditioning unit. I almost collapsed from shock when the repairman quoted me what it
would cost me. So by no avail, I considered and researched my other less expensive
options.
These were few and
far between, except for the option of purchasing a portable car air conditioner. Wow! I didn’t
realize that these even existed. Isn’t technology wonderful? Though I was not aware of their existence, many other
people must be. There is a very infinite amount of leads on resources to buy them on the internet. I found out that
there are many different makes and models of these sorts of airs used to cool an auto down, however most of them
were first created and patented for boats and RV’s. There are three main brands that are proven to be the least
expensive and the most efficient.
1. The koolaire air conditioner: This came up tops in most all of my
searches. It was originally patented to use on boats, and RV’s. It is the least expensive of all the other
options available. It runs about 40 bucks. It is a cooler that you fill with ice that runs on a 12 volt
battery system, and easily inserts into your car adapter plug. It is a quiet system that needs no expertise
to install. The reviews are stupendous on this product, and the manufacturers offer a guarantee on this
product. It produces “ice cold air.”
2. The swampy and mightykool system: This is similar to the Koolaire
air conditioner, as it runs on a 12 volt battery and attaches to your car adapter as well, except it also is
supposed to help humidify ultra dry air. It costs a little more than the last one, but has the added feature
of the humidifier. It also comes with a money back guarantee.
3. Cool Box portable Air conditioner: This is the mini version of the
portable air conditioner that comes with a car adaptor and can be place inside your vehicle. It is a 3 in 1
cooling system that also includes a water misting system and a general fan, as well as the ice breeze
feature. It runs about 70 dollars. It also has the advantage of working on 8 D cell batteries, which the
others do not have.
I haven’t quite
decided which portable air conditioner that I should buy, but I am very excited about purchasing one in the very
near future. I am so thankful that someone even thought of developing an innovative and inexpensive solution to
this inconvenient problem.
